MEC PARKS TAU APPOINTS NEW GAUTENG GAMBLING BOARD TO RESTORE GOVERNANCE
Gauteng MEC for Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Parks Tau has announced the appointment of new members for the Gauteng Gambling Board (GGB).
Advocate Anthea Platt SC has been appointed as chairperson of the board and businessman Timothy Sukazi as her deputy chairperson.
The appointment of the new board is part of measures undertaken by MEC Tau to strengthen governance and management at the GGB. MEC Tau has directed the new board to resolve matters of governance that would include the appointment of the executive management. Read More

Who Are We
The Gauteng Gambling Board is a statutory body established in terms of section 3 of the Gauteng Gambling Act, No 4 of 1995 as amended.
Prior to August 1996 betting on horse racing and other sporting events was the only form of legal gambling in Gauteng. In August 1996 the Gauteng Gambling Act 1995 (Act No 4 of 1995), was promulgated. This Act legalized other forms of gambling in the Province and provided for the establishment of the Gauteng Gambling Board.
